Hours Daily except Monday 8:30am -3pm. There is a small fee to enter the museum and the Lyceum of Aristotle is still not open to the public - don't think they found a whole lot to tell you the truth. Please see Athens walking tour map 4 for locations.

Housed in the Villa Ilissia, designed by Stamatis Kleanthes for the French philhellene Sophie de Marbois-Lebrun, the Duchess of Plaisance in 1840.

The museum consists of three buildings and is currently undergoing further renovations including the addition of an archeological park to show case the recently discovered Lyceum of Aristotle.

Often there will be groups of school children or sections and whole buildings closed. This museum is worth a quick peek as is the War Museum right next door to it and the National Art Gallery across the park and up the street across from the Hilton and near the Caravel Hotel too. There are some very nice mosaics as well. The War Museum has exhibits too in the way of the actual history of the Byzantine Empire.
