North Central Greece

Mt. Siniatsikon ( also called Mt. Askio)

This is the highest peak (2111 meters, or 6924 feet) in a range stretching northwards from the E90 Kozani to Siatista road. Though with little forest and rather bare, resulting from both poor soil and long term grazing, it has many bulbs (tulips, crocus and others) as well as other shrubs and flowers. A milk vetch which is rare in Greece is found here. There are also some butterflies.
