greece greek island ios Ios cyclades guide Hints from Harry

If you are young, have a tattoo, or are even thinking about a tattoo, and want the companionship of hordes of your semi-attired, drunken peers, (U.S., British, many Irish, Dutch and Germans) Ios is the island for you.

Be warned, several drug and alcohol related deaths have occurred on Ios and petty theft and even stabbings have taken place. Have fun, but don't lose your head.

If you are looking for that special sandy beach on Ios, best scooter around the island and find exactly what suits your mood. Wear your helmet too! Its the law and safer, as one rock can ruin your whole bloomin' trip!

Scorpions exist in Greece and I was even bitten by one in the Peloponnese–beware rocks with holes in them as that's where they like to hole up!
