Greek Recipe: Stewed Beef Karama

GREEK RECIPE: Stewed Beef Karama

  • 2 lbs lean stewing beef cut into 1" pcs
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 2 lg onions minced
  • 1 6 oz. can tomato paste diluted with 6oz. water
  • 1 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 tsp powdered cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup dry red wine
  • salt and pepper to taste

 

Heat butter in a pot, add onions and sautee until golden. Add meat and brown. Add all other ingrediants and simmer covered for about 2 hours or until meat is tender. Serve over any form of pasta, steamed rice or mashed potatoes. Serves 6.
