GREEK RECIPE: Stewed Beef and Onions "Stifado"
Melt butter in a dutch oven over low flame. Add meat. Do not sautee or brown! Place peeled onions over meat. Top with al other ingrediants. Place flat dish over onions to keep them intact while cooking. Simmer covered over lowest flame possible. Do not stir. Do not remove lid during entire cooking time of three hours. Serves 6 to 8.
